Based on Jeff’s latest book, Wicked Strange: Your Guide to Ghosts, Monsters, Oddities, and Urban Legends from New England, plus his popular weekly New England Legend podcast and his Emmy-nominated television series on PBS and Amazon Prime, the program presents highlights from his own adventures and work. For over 25 years, Jeff has been exploring the unexplained. He seeks out history, folklore, ghosts, monsters, and legends all over the world and in your backyard. Wicked Strange New England offers a tour of haunts, monsters, aliens, and weird history from our region. Drawing from a library of hundreds of legends, this program is different every time it’s given. The bizarre is closer than you think! Includes book signing, meet and greet, and show. Remember the famous Christmas song which goes, “There’ll be scary ghost stories and tales of the glories of Christmases long, long ago…”? So what happened to the scary stories? Jeff Belanger brings the spooky back to the yuletide time of year with this eerie holiday show. From the origins of the holiday to the monsters and ghosts that lurk in its shadows, Jeff will take you on a multi-media journey of this haunting holiday! Based on his "Creepy Christmas" PBS special and his best-selling book The Fright Before Christmas, this night may just save the holidays from ruin! This program is NOT for young children. The event is free and open to the public, but please contact the library as reservations may be required.

Krampus Ball 2025

The Mediator Fellowship 50 Rounds Avenue, Providence, RI, United States

Jeff Belanger will be at the ball selling and signing his Fright Before Christmas Book, and offer a dramatic reading of his poem of the same name. The Black Sabbath cover band Green Sabbath will be playing live. We'll have merchandise, vendors, refreshments, BYOB, a costume contest, and more. Be a holiday monster, witch, zombie Santa, or whatever pleases your dark heart. This is a 21-plus event, and tickets are already selling. We always need paper towels, blankets, or cat/dog food for the Faxon Animal Shelter in Fall River, and we always have a bin for Toys for Tots. 2025 has been a hard year, and I'm looking forward to this event very much. A small group of dedicated lunatics spent endless hours putting this event together. We hope to see you there.
